At the end of the day, motivation is not something you can depend on to get done and to be productive. I've said this time and time and time again, and I'll never stop repeating it. Motivation is a feeling, it's an emotion, and your emotions are constantly fluctuating. So, you deciding to base your future on something that's temporary is exactly why you're feeling... the real word you're looking for is discipline.
Together, rely on motivation alone to achieve your goals is a complete scam. I don't know who told you this, but you need to unlearn it. Because whether it's ripped ABS or longer hair or a million-dollar business, no one has achieved that by working towards their goals whenever they felt like it.
Now, I've read hundreds of books in the past three years, listened to hours and hours of self-improvement podcasts, and spoken to loads of people who are significantly more productive than me at the time. So I'm gonna let you in on what hacks I've learned and implemented that's completely changed me as a person and got me to start taking action and building those good habits out of discipline.
Now, this first hack is something I'm super proud of because I came up with it myself, and I've even created a free Notion template for you guys that will assist you on your journey. And that is to create a yearly, monthly, week-leading goal plan. Now, as you can tell, I haven't thought about the name too much, but essentially what I did was break down my top goals for my finances, my health, my relationships, and my mental health.
Moving into the next tip, which is to create doable habits. Now, people think that they have to cut out all of the bad habits that they indulge in or go to the extremes in order to create a productive lifestyle. But in reality, that's why people can't stick to the habits that they've created because they're unreasonable or extreme.
Now, this next hack is multitasking. Now, as generic as it may sound, my version of multitasking is to balance my unproductive habits with my productive habits. And this is an easy transition to productivity because you don't have to be drastic in your approach.
Now, this next tip is to dummy-proof your tasks. Live your life on easy mode. Set your gym bag up the night before. Meal prep for the week so you don't have to cook dinner or order for the next five days.
Anyway, moving into the next hack, which to me is an absolute no-brainer, is to prioritize your thoughts. Now how I typically organize my to-do list is I organize my tasks in rank of time and priority.
So let's get into the next hack, which is to have an accountability partner. Oftentimes I feel like we can find it so hard to keep promises to ourselves, but we feel absolutely terrible if we happen to break a promise with someone else.
But anyway, without rambling, let's get into the last hack, which is to find your motivations. Now, from this video you probably thought I was on motivation as a whole, but motivation itself can be manipulated in a way that you can actually motivate yourself on purpose.
